Maurus Schreyvogel, Chief Legal Innovation Officer, Novartis International AG, Switzerland
As Chief Legal Innovation Officer, Maurus Schreyvogel drives peak in-house legal department performance and accelerates functional innovation. He focuses on corporate legal department best practices and future needs, and application of technologies to increase value to the business while driving down cost and fostering a globally connected culture. His responsibilities also include Legal operations, global processes and systems. He is a member of the Group Legal Leadership Team. Maurus began his legal career at a Zurich law firm in 2002 and joined the Corporate IP department of Novartis in 2004. In 2007, Maurus transitioned to a two-year rotation in Finance and Audit and in 2009 he joined the Corporate Legal department as Program Manager. In this role Maurus led strategic, cost-saving Legal and IP initiatives such as the implementation of a global spend management program, the establishment of preferred law firm panels and the introduction of legal knowledge and matter management. In 2013 Maurus assumed responsibility for Legal operations and operational excellence. Between 2015 and 2017 he served as Chief of Staff to the Group General Counsel. Maurus received his law degree from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland in 2002 and holds a Global Executive MBA from IE Business School in Spain.

David Waterfield, Director, AlixPartners UK LLP , UK
David is a very experienced financial services and data analytics consultant. Ian Giles, Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright, UK
Ian is an antitrust and competition lawyer based in London. He focuses in advising on all aspects of competition law with a particular focus on competition and cartel investigations and merger control. Ian has been involved in numerous significant cases in recent years, including acting for Asda in the UK Tobacco investigation and successful appeal; acting for PwC in the UK Audit market investigation; securing EU and other global merger control clearances in Delta/Virgin Atlantic and the $13.6 billion Thermo Fisher/Life Technologies transaction; and representing Stena in securing unconditional clearance before the Competition Commission in Stena/DFDS. Michael Grenfell, Executive Director, Enforcement , Competition & Markets Authority, UK
Dr Michael Grenfell is an Executive Director on the Board of the Competition and Markets Authority – the UK’s primary competition and consumer agency – where he is responsible for enforcement of competition and consumer laws. He joined the CMA in January 2014, where he was initially a Senior Director for competition in the regulated sectors, before moving to his current position in July 2015. Before he joined the CMA, he was a solicitor in private practice for 25 years, specialising in UK and EU competition law and sector regulation, including, from 1998 to 2013, as a Partner at the international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. He has written and broadcast widely on competition, regulatory and consumer issues, and was co-author of Coleman and Grenfell on The Competition Act 1998 (OUP). He has an M.A. in history and law from Cambridge University, and a Ph.D in political thought from the London School of Economics.
