The Subsidy Control Act 2022, which came into force on 4 January 2023, provides the framework for the regime. The regime is permissive so the onus is always on the provider of subsidies of public monies to consider whether the subsidy is within the terms of the Act.

Rosemary Boyle

Rosemary Boyle has advised, lectured and written on range of legal topics over the last 30 years. Rosemary work as a local government lawyer for 20 years and then joined the University of Cambridge's Legal Services Division in 2002 where she advises on IP, national security, procurement of complex goods and services, data protection, funding for research and other commercial matters. At the start of the COVID pandemic, she advised on setting up the COG UK Consortium, which sequenced the Kent variant, a month after the consortium agreement was signed.
