The Challenges In-House Lawyers Face Today

Abstract

A few years ago it was quite simple to be an in-house lawyer. Basically, the lawyers were hired to manage litigation, give advice and counsel to support all areas of the organization. Today, in-house lawyers face a huge challenging environment within their organizations Globalization and the networking economy are pushing companies to do more with less to become more competitive. In the last decade we have seen big companies moving and changing even faster and innovating their products and services. To make all these changes feasible the Legal Department has to be ready and aligned with the business team. In this scenario legal departments have to move quickly to be seen as a strategic partner and not a cost center only.
