Information Governance – A Primer

Abstract

Information is a key corporate asset. “Data is growing faster than ever before and by the year 2020, our [data universe] will grow tenfold to around 44 zettabytes or 44 trillion gigabytes.” Unique data created by operations, including as provided by employees and customers, are vital for a corporation to develop and maintain competitive advantage. More businesses are quickly learning to collect, store and apply data to perform business analyses, formulate and execute strategy, optimize operations, and predict business and industry outcomes.
