In-House Legal and Finance Departments: Guardians of the Company?

Abstract

No other departments work more closely together than the Legal and Finance Departments in supporting all functions of the company and protecting it against risks. In this paper, we analyse the Legal and Finance Departments’ functions, applicable standards and the main areas for which they jointly have the biggest impact, in order to establish whether they can indeed be considered the guardians of the company.
