The rationality of legislators and business realities in M&A processes – the changing role of in-house lawyers – from advisors to strategic partners

Abstract

The current regulatory environment in the European Union, but also in Poland, poses challenges for businesses that go beyond the traditional legal framework. Dynamic legislative changes, often introduced without public consultation, particularly with the business community, and without analysis of the economic impact, can destabilize even the best-planned projects. I will describe this using an example from my practice as an in-house lawyer for a large global car fleet leasing group.
