The Modernisation of Insurance Law in the United Kingdom

Abstract

Insurance law in the UK has been modernised by the recent consumer and commercial insurance law reforms set out in the Consumer Insurance (Disclosure and Representations) Act 2012 (“CIDRA”) and the Insurance Act 2015 (“the Insurance Act”) respectively. Consequently it has introduced into law a more level playing field between insureds and insurers and will in turn raise the minimum standards expected of the industry.
