Businesses of all sectors and sizes require legal advice and risk management. Over time, in-house legal / corporate legal has evolved tremendously from traditional and low on tech department to now being positioned to be one of the eminent department of the organization. Legal departments are becoming more and more important as legal budgets continue to grow, companies expand and new technologies are introduced. As targets matter to the sales function, likewise are legal matters for legal teams. In-house legal teams are beginning to been seen for their services with an objective and quantifiable activities. The trend of in-house legal management is all but picking up. Off recent there has been a paradigm shift. The legal team that once was considered a mere cost to the company is now considered a major player in the growth of the organization. The volume and variety of the work that pours and quality that legal professionals bring out in timeliness, speaks of great stature the legal departments across different organizations have been able to achieve. They no longer are just the team player in the strategic growth, but have emerged as the real game changers. A lot of time and effort now goes into managing the legal work and the shift has been towards being more in-house.

Vikram Pakki has over 16 years’ experience as an In-house Counsel and hasworked with teams across countries and industries in software, products, outsourcing, consulting and telecommunications. His areas of practice have predominantly been in contracts, litigation management, corporate affairs, competition law and intellectual property laws. He has completed certificate courses on Fraud investigation from Coventry University and on Mergers and Acquisitions from New York Institute of Finance. Additionally he has attained Post Graduation Diploma degree on Alternative Dispute Resolution from NALSAR University of Law and in Intellectual Property Rights from Asian School of Cyber Law. Vikram has been a part of Colt Legal team at Bangalore, India for the past 6 years, as a Manager, Legal managing global clientele, with primary focus being Asia and US. Prior to Colt, previously he has worked at IBM, and ArisGlobal.
