Covid-19 presents a distinctive and profound challenge for every corporate organisation. It has impacted the global economy and forever changed the way we conceptualise work and business. In-house legal counsel have a critical role to play in helping their organisations navigate the impact of the pandemic and in preparing their organisations for the aftermath of the pandemic. The Covid-19 pandemic has been in existence for over a year, and it appears that it may be around for quite some time more, hence the need to plan and manage the in-house legal function bearing in mind the effects of the pandemic. In the course of the pandemic, in-house counsel have had to keep abreast with and understand the changes in the legal and regulatory landscape and ascertain the implications and contractual consequences for all stake holders.
