Ian Whitehurst is a barrister and a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb). His practice spans financial crime, asset recovery, arbitration, and regulatory enforcement, with particular expertise in cases involving fraud, money laundering, bribery, and asset recovery. He regularly acts in complex national and international proceedings. His growing arbitration and advisory practice focuses on the intersection of commercial integrity, compliance, and dispute resolution. He holds a Visiting Specialist appointment at the University of Plymouth in National Security Law, an Honorary Assistant Professor position at the University of Nottingham, and an Honorary Lectureship at Aberdeen Law School. He regularly delivers lectures on national security law, cybercrime, arbitration and environment regulation.
