As CEO, Chanin Ballance has spearheaded VIA’s constant advance into new techno-logical landscapes, from mobile and game-based learning solutions, machine and hybrid translation to multilingual product launches in 32 countries. Chanin is also guiding the development of MobilePaks, a cloud-based platform designed to help companies engage professionals, employees, partners and customers with bits of relevant knowledge on-demand. Notable clients include AT&T, HP, Intel, Cisco and Waste Man-agement. Prior to VIA, Chanin co-founded The Language Company, a language and cross-cultural training school and translation service, where she was responsible for general management and finance, before selling the school to Berlitz. Chanin earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Marylhurst College and completed graduate work in Biochemistry at Portland State University. She also completed executive management studies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Chanin has studied five foreign languages and has sat on the board of the American Marketing Association and Starve Ups, a non-profit entrepreneur group. She has also been published in prominent industry publications like Compliance & Ethics Professional, iMedia Connection, Chief Learning Officer, Inside Healthcare, Inc. Magazine and more.
