Karen Hallenstein, Supervising Counsel, Intellectual Property, Telstra Corporation Limited Karen Hallenstein is the Supervising Counsel for Intellectual Property at Telstra Corporation Limited. She has been with Telstra for over 15 years, working on the administration of Telstra IP portfolios and the strategic management of Telstra's IP interests. Karen has a Masters of Intellectual Property Law from the University of Melbourne. In addition, she has a Bachelor of Laws with Honours, an Honours degree in Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts, all from Monash University. Karen currently advises Telstra on a wide cross-section of IP law, specialising in brand and content. She represents Telstra in a variety of industry forums, including the Victorian Law Institute’s IP & Trade Practices Committee. Jane Perrier, General Counsel, Intellectual Property, Telstra Corporation Limited Jane Perrier is the General Counsel, Intellectual Property of Telstra Corporation Limited. She has been with Telstra for over 20 years and provides strategic legal advice and procedural support in relation to Telstra’s intellectual property interests in Australia and overseas. Jane is a Legal Practitioner and registered Trade Mark Attorney. She is a member of the Law Institute of Victoria, the Institute of Patent and Trade Mark Attorneys of Australia (IPTA) and the Intellectual Property Society of Australia and New Zealand (IPSANZ). Jane is a former appointee, and consultant, to the federal government’s Advisory Council on Intellectual Property (ACIP) and a past president of the Australian IP industry body, AMPICTA. In 2013 Jane was awarded Euromoney’s Legal Media Group’s Australasian Women in Business Law Award for Managing IP In-House.
