In-House Counsel as a Business Partner: A Middle East Perspective

November 2017
ManagementIndustry

Abstract

In a constantly developing commercial landscape, the role of the In-house lawyer is also adapting. Not only are in-house lawyers in every industry expected to know the law, but also to be able to simultaneously provide commercial and simplified solutions to the business. Other support functions such as Finance and Human Resources often market themselves as a business partner of the company and Legal departments are also now adopting this trend. It has become increasingly captivating for in-house lawyers, particularly in times of dynamic commercial activity whether this be in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Australasia or the Americas, to demonstrate their value to the business in valuable and proactive ways.
