Managing an International Legal Department

Abstract

Managing a legal department comes with a certain set of challenges. Managing a legal department across multiple sites adds to the challenges. Managing a legal department across multiple sites spanning multiple countries across time zones and cultural divides adds a whole new dimension to the challenges. When building or managing an international legal department, there are seven general guidelines that should aid in dealing with these challenges. While it will never be an easy task, a lot of hard work and attention to the following factors should result in a successful and dynamic legal department.
