Legal Profession in an Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence - An Update

Abstract

This article is an update of my 2 articles in 2023 Legal Profession in an Age of Generative Artificial Intelligence (“Legal Profession in an Age of GenAI”) and Generative Artificial Intelligence: Legal Profession Disrupted? (“GenAI: Legal Profession Disrupted?”) with recent research findings and recent Bar Association, Law Society and Judiciary guidelines on the use of generative artificial intelligence (“GenAI”). My article is divided into 6 sections : introduction in Section 1; Confidentiality in Section 2; Data Privacy and Security in Section 3; GenAI Legaltech Tools also hallucinate in Section 4; Usefulness of Generative Artificial Intelligence for Legal Professionals in Section 5 and concluding remarks in Section 6.
