February 2011Corporate GovernanceIT

Abstract

The decade of 1990s proved to be an important decade for companies as the concept of ‘Corporate Governance’ has changed the entire gamut of corporate practices. Today, Corporate Governance is one of the most discussed topics amongst companies. The concept is all pervasive. Many countries irrespective of its size and economy have identified and adopted an independent code / practice on Corporate Governance. Corporate Governance is a desired set of principles on which companies are expected to run their business diligently specially when there is separation of ownership and management and expects the timely compliance of other Acts and rules applicable to them. The concept of Corporate Governance has kept evolving to keep pace with the changing business environment.
