Shelley Lloyd is a lawyer providing coverage analysis, advocacy and research resources to Aon Risk Solution's Canadian Claims team, on executive liability, professional liability and environmental liability matters. Shelley applies her extensive policy wording and claims experience to advise and advocate for coverage on Aon's clients' policies. Shelley's expertise in specialty risks includes Directors' and Officers' liability, Employment Practices liability, Commercial Crime, Fiduciary and Trustee liability, Environmental and Errors and Omissions liability. Shelley joined Aon in January 2007 as one of the two founding lawyers of the Legal and Research Practice (LARP) in Aon’s Financial Services Group. As a member of LARP, Shelley analyzed, audited and developed policy wording for Aon's management liability insurance lines, published and spoke on legal developments affecting executive and corporate liability exposures, and provided successful claims and coverage advocacy for Aon's clients. For two years Shelley was also part of Aon's Corporate Compliance office, responding to regulatory issues affecting Aon's business, providing training on privacy and compliance requirements, and conducting audits to evaluate compliance, risk avoidance and organizational best practices. Shelley has contributed to leading industry publications, has been a speaker at a number of legal and insurance events, and has made numerous presentations to corporate boards, private companies and financial institutions, and collaborated with some of Canada’s major law firms on issues of loss control, professional liability, and emerging corporate board exposures. Prior to joining Aon, Shelley was Claims Counsel for Specialty Casualty Claims at Liberty International Underwriters, and was a litigator at Toronto insurance defence firm, McCague, Wires, Peacock, Borlack, McInnis & Lloyd. Shelley received an Hon.B.Sc. from the University of Toronto, and her law degree from the State University of New York School of Law. She is called to the bar in New York, Connecticut and Ontario.
