Juanita Chaves is a Colombian lawyer, trained in Australia, who has worked previously in the Secretariat of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture. An expert in farmers rights and breeders rights, she now works for the Global Forum on Agricultural Research, a multi-stakeholder mechanism headquartered at FAO, Rome.
