Abstract

In response to Russian “special military operation in Ukraine” (known in the EU and the USA as “Russian invasion of Ukraine”), starting from February 2022, the European Union, the United States, the United Kingdom, Japan and a number of other countries imposed nine packages of sanctions against Russia. The scope of the tenth package is currently being discussed. The volume and scale of the imposed sanctions is striking. In terms of the number of sanctions imposed against it, Russia has overtaken the former “leader”, Iran. Hundreds of companies, including those that worked with the USSR during the Cold War, ceased their activities in the Russian market and left it.
