'BYOD' and Big Data - The New Challenges for Data Forensics

May 2013ForensicsConsultant

Abstract

The Big Data and the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) movements have had a major impact in the post-PC era. Big Data has been referred to as 'The next frontier for innovation, competition and productivity' , while IT research company Gartner refers to BYOD as 'The most radical shift in enterprise client computing since the introduction of the PC'. As a result of these technology trends, corporate data ecosystems have been irrevocably altered. In practical terms, this means that the days of data servers in the back office and the need to equip individuals with advanced mobile technology that would otherwise be unaffordable to them are behind us.
