De-risk as You Democratize: Accelerating Innovation and Ensuring AI Act Readiness in 2025

Abstract

In the few short years since I wrote an article for the International In-House Counsel Journal advocating for the stronger integration of technology into the strategic planning of in-house legal departments, the technological landscape has undergone quantum leaps. While many of the assumptions and predictions I made at the time have proven accurate, the democratization of generative AI—heralded by the launch of ChatGPT in November 2022—has surpassed my optimistic expectations faster than I could have fathomed.
