Compliance Lessons from Star Trek
Abstract
To the uninitiated, it may not be immediately obvious how the job of monitoring criminal-regulatory risks on behalf of a company could possibly be helped by insights from a long-running US sci-fi franchise. Nevertheless, there is much to be learned from the future imagined by Gene Roddenberry for the original Star Trek, first produced for syndication on US TV networks in the 1960s and beyond, which has since spawned several further generations of TV series and movies.
